Purpose And Affiliation

 

Section 1.1  NameThe name of this nonprofit corporation shall be Thomas M. Cooley Law School Grand Rapids Student Bar Association (referred to as GRSBA in this document).

 

Section 1.2  AffiliationsThe GRSBA is affiliated with the Thomas M. Cooley Law School (referred to as the School in this document) and the use of the School’s name as part of the GRSBA’s name is by permission of the School.

 

Section 1.3  Purposes

(a)        The purposes of the GRSBA are:

(1)       to promote, establish, and run such activities and associations as are deemed to be beneficial to its Members (as defined in Section 2.1 below) and the Grand Rapids campus of the School;

(2)       to promote academic and social interaction among the students, faculty, and administration of the Grand Rapids campus of the School;

(3)       to develop mutual awareness and appreciation of the legal profession throughout the Grand Rapids campus of the School and the community at large;

(4)       to promote professionalism and ethics among the students of the School attending classes in Grand Rapids; and

(5)       to promote professional development and leadership.

(b)       The GRSBA may do any and all lawful acts in furtherance of the foregoing purposes.

 

Section 1.4  ScopeThe GRSBA is the exclusive official governing organization representing the entire student body of the Grand Rapids campus of the School.
